Matīss Dzelve is a legal specialist with extensive experience in competition law, cross-border cooperation matters, and damages claims. He obtained his professional education at the University of Latvia, earning a Bachelor's degree in 2015 and a Master's degree in Law in 2018. Additionally, Matīss regularly expands his knowledge through international training programs, including a course on digital platform regulation at the European University Institute's Centre for a Digital Society, training on antitrust and merger control organized by the European Commission, and courses at the Latvian School of Public Administration.

Matīss gained his professional experience in public administration at the Competition Council, serving as a legal consultant, senior lawyer, and chief lawyer for cross-border cooperation in the Legal Department.

Matīss actively contributes to the development of legal science and practice; he is the author of several articles in the specialized legal journal Jurista Vārds and a frequent lecturer at local and international conferences, including speaking at the Baltic Competition Conference and forums organized by the University of Latvia on digital market regulation, disclosure of evidence, and damages practice.
